The United and Hounds Select XI beat a North Duffield Select XI in the first ever Jason Roughley Memorial Trophy match at North Duffield. The game ended 5-5 at full time with Riccall/Hounds winning 7-6 on penalties.

Jack Rogers, Alex Rhodes and Andy Tingey had given the Duffield team a 3-0 half time lead and they led 4-0 shortly after the break through Jack Rogers. Liam Bradley made it 4-1 from the spot but Alex Rhodes restored the 4 goal cushion. Bradley again scored from the spot before a brace of Daz Fawcett headers and a Gary Collier strike levelled the scores and completed the comeback.

Alan Jackson, Pete Collier, Mark Sanderson, Gary Collier, Mick Carmody, Liam Olsson and Liam Bradley scored the penalties with Sanderson making the crucial save from Dean Westwood.

The day was enjoyed by all present who turned out to celebrate the life of a true friend and legend of the 2 clubs.

The winning captain Liam Olsson was presented with the winning trophy by Jason’s dad Wayne and it is due to be competed for on an annual basis.
