Tockwith U13s 2 Riccall Utd U13s 3
The home team knocked Riccall out of the league cup a few weeks ago so Riccall had a score to settle and from the off Riccall dominated the midfield tussle with Bridge,Graham and Butler controlling the centre of the park with ease. Tockwith then tried to cut out the midfield with several long balls to there attack but each time Ward and Free were there to clear up for Riccall. Riccall’s first goal came from a great strike from wide man Declan Page and 5 minutes later a Riccall attack ended up with the Tockwith goal keeper felling Dutton in the box which resulted in a penalty which Owen Butler placed neatly into the bottom left of the net to make it 2-0 at the half time break. Tockwith started the second period strongly and pulled a goal back which was 5 yards off side which went unnoticed but this gave Riccall fire in there bellies and when Jordan Moore found himself in space at the edge off the area with the ball he cheekily lobbed the advancing keeper to make it 3-1.The dying minutes of the game saw Tockwith hit the bar with a penalty which was then dramatically cleared by keeper Kozelko and then the bizarre happened when a lose ball was rolling out of play just wide of Riccall’s goal and hit a bobble and rolled into the net much to everybody’s amusement but Riccall had done enough to win the match 3-2 and keep top of the table. Riccall’s man of the match was centre half Josh Ward.

Riccall changed the shape to compete which seemed to work and Dec Page found his 2nd goal of the game with a great left foot curl shortly followed by a Jordan Moore strike to bring the teams level 10 minutes from time. But once again Tockwith seemed to find a bit extra in there tanks and finished the game in style with 2 late goals to put them through to the next round. This was the first league game of the season for both teams which turned out to be an all out attacking encounter for both t in this exciting derby fixture.Riccall struck first with captain Hayden Bradley putting the ball in the net from a corner only for brayton to reply with a well deserved equaliser.Brayton enjoyed plenty of possesion but it was riccall who struck again when a Jordan moore corner was turned into the net by the unfortunate brayton keeper.Riccalls confidence grew and they began to enjoy plenty of the ball with Brandon Graham and Owen Butler pulling the strings in the heart of riccalls midfield and when a loose ball was spilled out wide to Will Butler who controlled it nicely before chipping the keeper in what was possibly the goal of the game Riccalls confidence began to grow towards the end of the half which saw Dec page supply Jordan moore with a great pass which moore finished in style before the half time whistle. The second half started with brayton on the all out attack but fortunatly for riccall keeper james kozelko was in fine form and pulled off a string of excellent stops.Max Dutton showed his magic throughout with his dribbling skills and the defensive quartet of Free, cox, bradley and ward proved a hard wall to knock down but with no substitutes to call on riccall began to look tired in areas so the coaches changed the formation to 4-5-1 which helped riccall contain the ball in the blistering heat which resulted in them scoring goal no 5 which was an own goal and then no 6 which was scored by Dutton and then 2 more goals from moore one of which was a cheeky back heal and another which was slotted in the bottom corner from a O Butler assist.Brayton replied late on with 2 more consolation goals but riccall were well deserved 8-3 winners.Riccalls man of the match was goal keeper james kozelko.
