Matt Miles - Child Welfare Officer

My role within Riccall United Football club is "Club Welfare Officer", which supports the club to ensure we provide a safe and fun environment for the children and young people to enjoy the game of Football. I am a parent to 3 children, two of whom play for Riccall United, which is how i became keen to volunteer for the role as the enjoyment they gain from being part of a team is really important to them.

By working with East Riding FA and adopting FA policies we work to a framework that all the volunteers are aware off and follow. This includes Safeguarding children / young people policies, anti-bullying policies and ensuring we have a club that offers a place to play, train and play football for all. Also, how to raise any concerns they may have about individuals or aspects of the club.

I also have a responsibility in ensuring all those who are eligible have a current DBS check and complete the relevant training required provided by the FA.

We all have a responsibility (as volunteers, parents and players) to ensure we are an inclusive and open club which means supporting the codes of conduct, i really encourage you to have a read and sign up to them to ensure we continue and develop the club with the right culture.

If you have any questions about the role or policies drop me an email at safeguarding@riccallunited.com and I will make contact.
