The Under 8's Blacks was formed last year and played in the Under 7's league. Following an influx of new players, the team was split into two - Reds and Blacks for the second part of the 2022/23 season.

Meet the Coaches - Alex Sutherland
Alex has been with the team since it's formation at Under 7's. Alex was one of the lead coaches for the Under 8’s teams prior to the split and is now directly responsible for the Blacks team along with Jason and Rich.

He currently has his FA playmaker, Safeguarding and First Aid qualifications along with many years of playing experience to bring to the club. Alex has been looking after the team since it formed at Under 7’s in 2021.

Meet the Coaches - Jason Gentles

Jason is one of the coaches for the Under 8's Blacks teams along with Alex. Football has always been a huge part of Jason's life as he has always enjoyed playing it and watching it. After his first son was born he added coaching to that list.

After six years of watching grass roots football and spending hours coaching my eldest I thought the best way to give back was to coach my youngest son’s school friends at Riccall United. He has been doing this now since June 2021 and finds it one of the most rewarding and stressful things he have ever done but he loves it!
