The 2026/27 season will be our fourth year since rejoining the York & District Senior Football League. During the Covid years, the team lost its affiliation with the league, an association the club had proudly maintained since 1919. Riccall United has been at the heart of the village for well over a century, providing opportunities for local players and representing the community with pride.

Throughout our proud history, the club has enjoyed considerable success. The first major honour came in 1968 when Riccall became the first club from outside the top division to win the York Senior League Cup. This was followed by the York & District Second Division title and the East Riding Junior Cup in 1969. During the 1970s, Riccall enjoyed one of the most successful periods in its history, winning league championships in 1970, 1974, 1975, 1977 and 1978, while establishing itself as one of the strongest sides in local football. More recently, the club added another league championship in 2015, reflecting the enduring strength and ambition of Riccall United.

We’re very optimistic that we will continue to improve as a club, both on and off the pitch. Our ultimate aim is to return to the top division, compete for honours, and add to the success and achievements that Riccall United has enjoyed throughout its long and proud history.

Meet the Coaches

Hollis Bills
I started playing for Riccall while still at high school, at the age of 14 or 15. My family has a long history with the football club, and some of my earliest football memories were made wearing the Riccall shirt.

I decided to reform the senior side because I was impressed by the progress being made by the junior teams. I wanted to establish a senior team that would provide a clear pathway for young players who wished to continue playing when they reached the appropriate age, ensuring they were not lost to other clubs of a similar standard.

Looking ahead, I hope the senior side will continue to benefit from the hard work, dedication and commitment of our junior coaches. By developing local talent and providing opportunities within the club, we can build a sustainable future and continue adding new chapters to Riccall United's proud history.

Andrew White

Andy White is a Level 1 qualified coach with experience coaching at both junior and senior level for Riccall. He is also a proud father of two boys who play for Riccall, helping to maintain a strong family connection with the club.
Alongside his coaching commitments, Andy continues to play for the senior team, although he might jokingly describe that decision as "stupidly"!
