About the Team
The Jaguars are entering their first season as a Riccall team, with the majority of players having previously played for other local clubs.
The focus of the team is to ensure equal playing time for all players and to ensure that our team are playing at the right level for them as individuals, to further develop their technical ability and the importance of playing collectively as a team – skills that will not only assist with their footballing development, but important skills as they grow.
With many of the players having already played together, we are looking forward to both an exciting and challenging season ahead.
Meet the Coaches
Andy Munson
Andy is one of the Head Coaches of the newly formed Jaguars, having previously been a coach in another local team for the past two seasons.
Andy has been involved in youth football for the best part of the last 20 years, with coaching and management roles both in North Yorkshire and the South of England, across various clubs. He is also a qualified referee and many, many years ago played at semi-professional level.
Passionate about all sports but football in particular, you will often see Andy and his family cheering on York City FC at a weekend as they are season ticket holders.
Andy’s focus as a coach is purely on ensuring that all players enjoy playing football and that each individual player is able to develop at their own rate, in a supportive and encouraging environment.
Chris Charlton
Chris has been coaching grassroots football for two seasons and is an FA Level 1 qualified coach. He has completed the FA Safeguarding and Emergency First Aid in Football qualifications.
A lifelong supporter of both Leeds United and York City, he is passionate about helping young players develop both on and off the pitch.
His son, Charlie, plays for Riccall United and, alongside coaching the team on Saturdays, Chris also coaches Fulford Saxons U9’s on Sundays.
He enjoys creating a fun, positive environment where every child feels included, challenged and encouraged to enjoy the game. Chris believes that building confidence, teamwork and a lifelong love of football is every bit as important as developing technical ability. He is proud to be part of the Riccall United coaching team and looks forward to helping every player enjoy their football and reach their potential.
